Diego Costa appeared to throw his warm up bib at manager Jose Mourinho during Chelsea’s goalless draw with Tottenham today (see video below).

Costa was a unsused substitute in the game, and in the 92nd minute, after it became obvious he would not be used, jogged back from his warm up down the touchline, took off his bib and threw it in the direction of Mourinho.

The Brazil-born Spain striker had a public row with Mourinho during Chelsea’ s 4-0 win at Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday, though Mourinho has since said that they made up with “kisses and cuddles”.

“He’s playing every match and things are not going really well for his confidence,” the Blues manager said today ahead of kick off at White Hart Lane, explaining his selection.

In the match, Tottenham extended their unbeaten Premier League run to 13 matches by drawing 0-0 against a Chelsea side showing signs of recovery but still languishing in the lower half of the standings.

Feeling the effects of a long mid-week trip to Azerbaijan for the Europa League, Tottenham provided little goal threat but was able to contain Chelsea to celebrate its best streak in the league since the 1984-85 season.

While Chelsea failed to get its first back-to-back league wins in a disappointing title defense, a solid display at the back secured a third consecutive clean sheet for Jose Mourinho’s team.

Chelsea is five points above the relegation zone and 10 behind fifth-place Tottenham.
